Colleen Lerma

Colleen Lerma was 43 years old when she went into labor in a hospital in El Segundo, California, on June 21, 2003. Her labor became complicated when there was a tear in her uterus. She died of massive blood loss. A Jehovah’s Witness, she would not consent to a transfusion.

Her daughter, Amalie, survives.
